How to Cut a Mango



  • Slice mango lengthwise through flesh on each side of the long slim pit in the centre.
  • Lay the two halves, or “cheeks,” on cutting board.  With knife, score the flesh of each half in crosshatch pattern, carefully cutting to, but not through, skin.
  • Gently push against the skin so that the cubes on the cut side pop upward.
  • Slice off sections at the skin. Voila - chopped mango, fast.
  • Mangoes freeze well, in cubes or pureed
